LATEST DSLR FROM SAMSUNG
Samsung’s latest NX200 interchangeable lens camera (ILC) comes with a new 20.3-megapixel CMOS sensor, captures 1080/30p full-HD videos and has a 3-inch AMOLED screen. The NX200 has ISO sensitivity that now maxes out at 12,800 (from 6,400), burst-mode shooting speeds that reaches 7fps and now captures videos with stereo sound.
Samsung decided to remove the option to attach an external viewfinder, which could be a problem for those who want more accuracy when framing their images. Remaining unchanged is the company’s i-Function system which allows for users with compatible lenses to adjust frequently used settings like white balance, ISO and aperture values through the lens barrel instead of fiddling with the in-camera user interface.

New MacBook Pro Coming in April…
Just a few days ago we found a little rumor slash speculation saying that the iPad 2 is coming out in January 2011 (something we already knew) but most importantly that the next-gen MacBook Pro generation will arrive in April 2011 with new features on board and a new overall design, all similar to the new MacBook Air notebooks unveiled by Apple this fall.

It looks like today we have more information for you on the next-gen MacBook Pro, but, again these are just speculations at this time and it will be a while until we see some sort of solid confirmation from Apple or anyone else with access to its future product lines.
The mid-2011 MacBook Pro laptops are said to move from HDD to SSD storage, with up to 512GB solid state drive available on launch, and the new machines are also said to come without DVD support, just like the MacBook Airs. One of the most interesting features of these new MacBook Pro laptops will be the introduction of Light Peak.
In case you don’t know what Light Peak is then we’ll point you to this little article we wrote over a year ago for more details, but basically Light Peak is a new technology, an universal connector, that will kick USB 3.0’s ass when it comes to transfer speeds. The new connector is expected to offer up to 10Gbps speeds, which will be a remarkable milestone for computers.
Developed by Intel this new technology will surely come to other computers and devices in the near future and it will definitely not be an Apple-only feature although it will probably be an Apple exclusive at the beginning. Pairing Light Peak with a solid state drive will deliver some impressive results when it comes to transferring large files or streaming audio and video files and we can’t wait to see this particular duo in action.

Explore Your Inner Artist with Magic Art Filters
In-camera Creative Art Filters, called Magic Art Filters, enable users to enhance and tailor images as they’re being captured. This translates into more fun and flexibility as customization is no longer limited to using expensive and time-consuming computer software.
The Magic Art Filters include:
- Pop Art – enhance and saturate colors to create vivid, high-impact pictures that express the joyful, lighthearted feeling of the Pop Art style of the 1960s;
- Pin Hole – reduce the peripheral brightness of an image as though it were shot through a pin hole, connecting the viewer intimately with the subject at the center;
- Fish-Eye – emulate the wide-angle of a fish-eye lens by taking extremely wide, hemispherical images and magnifying the center of the frame;
- Drawing – turn your image into a sketch outline for children to color;
- Soft Focus – encloses the foreground of an image in gentle, pastel colors with a soft, elegant focus; similar to effects achieved in a studio;
- New! Sparkle – shoot photos with the luxurious feel created by added twinkling lights; and
- Punk – creates two-tone images full of rock-and-roll spirit.
14-Megapixels for Superior Image Quality
The Olympus VR-320 features a 14-megapixel image sensor enabling consumers to achieve consistently sharp and vivid images when producing large-format prints or cropping/enlarging a portion of an image.
Blur-Free Photos Two Ways
Dual Image Stabilization combines two technologies – Mechanical Sensor-Shift Image Stabilization and Digital Image Stabilization – to provide one powerful anti-blur solution for capturing great images whether the photographer or the subject is moving. Olympus’ Mechanical Sensor-Shift Image Stabilization keeps images sharp by adjusting the internal image sensor to compensate for camera movement, even in low-light conditions when shutter speeds are slower. Additionally, Digital Image Stabilization freezes the action with high ISO sensitivity and fast shutter speeds to prevent blurry images often caused by a moving subject. By combining the two technologies, users of the Olympus VR-320 are able to take crystal clear images in any shooting situation.
Easier Group Shots with Face Detection!
Wedding, birthday and family reunion group shots have never been easier with Face Detection. The Olympus VR-320 detects up to eight faces within the frame and automatically focuses and optimizes exposure to capture sharp, brilliant portraits and group shots.
Capture the Action with AF Tracking
AF Tracking technology locks focus on your fast-moving subject – everything from house cats to Siberian tigers – and continuously adjusts focus and brightness. This enables you to keep quick-moving and unpredictable subjects like children in focus for the perfect shot.
Intelligent Auto for Incredibly Easy Images
Taking a moonlit stroll on the beach? Intelligent Auto Mode automatically indentifies what you are shooting (i.e., Portrait, Night + Portrait, Landscape, Macro, Sports) and adjusts the camera’s settings to capture the best quality results. Amateurs can jump into this quick and hassle-free feature that does the thinking for them and produces incredible images.
Easy Operation with Scene Modes and In-Camera Help Guide
The new Olympus VR-320 has 14 scene modes and enhanced In-Camera Help Guides that make digital photography simple and fun for users of all ages and skill levels. The scene modes include portrait to capture loved ones, landscape to show off the scenery, a fun fireworks mode and a specially designed “Pet Mode” to help animal lovers capture man’s best friend. The In-Camera Help Guide displays a brief description of camera settings and features on the LCD allowing consumers to easily adjust ISO and white balance settings using the Program Auto mode. Additionally, Exposure Compensation enables users to preview and select various exposure effects on a live, multi-frame window on the LCD before snapping the shot. This smart feature allows users to see precisely what the image will look like when adjustments are made, ensuring they are capturing the exact image desired. Program Auto and Exposure Compensation are great modes that enable novice users to get results like the pros while learning about the effects of different photography techniques. Menus are available in various languages for convenient operation.
Shadow Adjustment Technology
Shooting outdoors in bright daylight can be tricky because of the extreme contrast between dark shadowed areas and bright sunlit areas. While the human eye is capable of detecting the nuances between dark and light and all the details in between, image sensors traditionally have not been quite as sensitive. The new V-series cameras address this challenge head-on with Shadow Adjustment Technology, which compensates for extreme contrast where the shadow areas are underexposed and lack visible detail. With this technology, users can preview and capture images with the same contrast as the naked eye.
SD Compatibility for Convenient Sharing
The Olympus VR-320 allows users to share their work easily through SD-compatible computers, digital picture frames and HDTVs.
OLYMPUS [ib] Software Makes it Even Easier to Share and Print Your Photos
All Olympus digital compact cameras now offer the new OLYMPUS [ib] photo organizing and editing software. It includes photography workflow, browsing, editing and unique photo organizing functions. You can organize photos by person with automatic face-recognition technology, by place with a map-tagging function, or by event. All information will be tagged in each photo’s data. You can then easily upload images to the integrated online service, [ib on the net], to share and backup photos, as well as order prints and photo merchandise. The name [ib] stands for image bridge, because the software is designed to create a bridge to help you get images from your camera to services where you can do more with your photos.
Availability
The Olympus VR-320 will be available in March 2011. It will ship with a Lithium Ion Battery, USB Cable, Wrist Strap, Quick-Start Guide, Warranty Card, Instruction Manual, OLYMPUS [ib] and Olympus Viewer 2 software.
U.S. Pricing / Product Configurations
Estimated Street Price: Olympus VR-320 – $199.99
Ipod touch 2G review
At Apple’s last event, Steve Jobs called the iPod touch the company’s “most popular iPod,” and it’s easy to understand why. In just a few short years, the iPhone-with-no-phone has kept in lockstep with Cupertino’s halo device, benefitting from the same kind of constant hardware and software updating that has helped turned the iPhone into an iconic gadget. The touch has been right alongside the iPhone’s meteoric rise in popularity, becoming the go-to second-pocket slab for millions. There are good reasons, too. Apple boasts about gaming on the device — claiming it beats out both Nintendo’s and Sony’s offerings in sales… combined. While we can’t concede that the device is a dedicated game console, it most definitely games. And it’s still an iPod, an internet device, and a thousand other things thanks to Apple’s vastly populous App Store. Now the player has once again reaped the rewards of iPhone updates, boasting a new Retina Display, the A4 CPU, two cameras which allow for FaceTime calling and 720p video recording, and all the new features of the company’s latest mobile operating system, iOS 4.1.

Samsung’s Laptop Lighter, Thinner Than MacBook Air
Before you rush out and buy that ultrathin MacBook Air, take a look at the Samsung Series 9 Notebook that will begin gracing store shelves starting Thursday.
You might remember this wispy little black number from CES 2011, where we briefly mentioned the Samsung Series 9 amid a flurry of product rollouts. Exciting? Yes, but talk is cheap, and now Samsung delivers this 13.3-inch laptop that’s lighter, thinner and packs a more up-to-date processor than a MacBook Air.
With all that miniaturization and speed, of course, there’s a price premium. The cheapest Samsung Series 9, packing an Intel 1.4GHz Core i5-2537M processor (vs. the MacBook Air’s 1.86GHz Core 2 Duo), 4GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD is going to set you back $1649, $50 more expensive than the highest-priced MacBook Air.
Well, this is a switch. Usually a comparable Mac is a lot more expensive than its Windows laptop counterparts. But look what happens when Samsung pays more attention to quality, and shoehorns faster components inside a swoopy, impossibly-thin enclosure. Things start getting pricey.
Samsung also announced today it wo
uld be shipping another member of the Series 9 line next month (April, 2011), an 11.1-inch ultrathin laptop running the Core i3-380UM processor, 2GB of RAM, and a 64GB SSD. Samsung hasn’t announced pricing on that yet, but it will probably cost around $1,150, according to a price leak on Dynamism.
All these numbers are one thing, but what was it like to hold it in your hands? According to Mashable’s Ben Parr, “I held it. It’s awesome.” Beyond its aesthetics, as a practical matter, Samsung said at CES 2011 that this laptop boots in 12 seconds.
