Samsung’s latest NX200 interchangeable lens camera (ILC) comes with a new 20.3-megapixel CMOS sensor, captures 1080/30p full-HD videos and has a 3-inch AMOLED screen.  The NX200 has ISO sensitivity that now maxes out at 12,800 (from 6,400), burst-mode shooting speeds that reaches 7fps and now captures videos with stereo sound.

Samsung decided to remove the option to attach an external viewfinder, which could be a problem for those who want more accuracy when framing their images. Remaining unchanged is the company’s i-Function system which allows for users with compatible lenses to adjust frequently used settings like white balance, ISO and aperture values through the lens barrel instead of fiddling with the in-camera user interface.

At Apple’s last event, Steve Jobs called the iPod touch the company’s “most popular iPod,” and it’s easy to understand why. In just a few short years, the iPhone-with-no-phone has kept in lockstep with Cupertino’s halo device, benefitting from the same kind of constant hardware and software updating that has helped turned the iPhone into an iconic gadget. The touch has been right alongside the iPhone’s meteoric rise in popularity, becoming the go-to second-pocket slab for millions. There are good reasons, too. Apple boasts about gaming on the device — claiming it beats out both Nintendo’s and Sony’s offerings in sales… combined. While we can’t concede that the device is a dedicated game console, it most definitely games. And it’s still an iPod, an internet device, and a thousand other things thanks to Apple’s vastly populous App Store. Now the player has once again reaped the rewards of iPhone updates, boasting a new Retina Display, the A4 CPU, two cameras which allow for FaceTime calling and 720p video recording, and all the new features of the company’s latest mobile operating system, iOS 4.1.

You might remember this wispy little black number from CES 2011, where we briefly mentioned the Samsung Series 9 amid a flurry of product rollouts. Exciting? Yes, but talk is cheap, and now Samsung delivers this 13.3-inch laptop that’s lighter, thinner and packs a more up-to-date processor than a MacBook Air.

With all that miniaturization and speed, of course, there’s a price premium. The cheapest Samsung Series 9, packing an Intel 1.4GHz Core i5-2537M processor (vs. the MacBook Air’s 1.86GHz Core 2 Duo), 4GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD is going to set you back $1649, $50 more expensive than the highest-priced MacBook Air.

Well, this is a switch. Usually a comparable Mac is a lot more expensive than its Windows laptop counterparts. But look what happens when Samsung pays more attention to quality, and shoehorns faster components inside a swoopy, impossibly-thin enclosure. Things start getting pricey.

Samsung also announced today it would be shipping another member of the Series 9 line next month (April, 2011), an 11.1-inch ultrathin laptop running the Core i3-380UM processor, 2GB of RAM, and a 64GB SSD. Samsung hasn’t announced pricing on that yet, but it will probably cost around $1,150, according to a price leak on Dynamism.

All these numbers are one thing, but what was it like to hold it in your hands? According to Mashable’s Ben Parr, “I held it. It’s awesome.” Beyond its aesthetics, as a practical matter, Samsung said at CES 2011 that this laptop boots in 12 seconds.
